This digital movie explores the concept of commuting in Los Angeles. The city is criss-crossed with freeways spanning eight or more lanes, yet in spite of these massive transportation arteries it is both difficult and time consuming to get anywhere. Furthermore, urban sprawl, poor public transit options, and skyrocketing housing costs have created an environment where nearly everyone must commute on the freeways. This digital movie reflects the absurdities of commuting by showing images of vehicles which do nothing, scenes from films shot in Los Angeles, and cars speeding different directions without ever reaching a destination. Images of cowboys and indians chasing each other and scenes of ridiculous disasters reflect the often violent attitudes toward commuting as a form of battle, and the rising phenomenon of 'Road Rage'. The fact that there is no destination, no conclusion, reflects the feelings futility evoked by my daily commute.
